Serving As a Small Group In the Cause of LIFE!

God has called us all to play a part in defending the innocent and saving the lost.  In fact, He has called us to lay down our lives for the sake of the gospel and He calls us to do this together as a body of believers whether that is families joining together, friends linking up to serve someone, or church small groups and Sunday school classes finding opportunities to minister.  (Please see 2 Corinthians 4:5, For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.)

When we suggest serving the cause of LIFE, we’re NOT talking about service projects where you give a few hours and then you’re done.  We are grateful for a clean office and other quick projects getting done but those are not quite the sacrificial love being poured out on hurting people that God has called us to do every day of our lives.

What would you guess to be the primary thing most helpful to women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy?  Ready for it?  They need to be in a relationship with you.  That’s it!

Sure, hurting people may need a lot of material support, resources and life training but all of those needs should be met through you, through a sincere relationship where you love on them where they are and enjoy them as someone created in God’s image who is a recipient of God’s love through His Church.  In many ways it is very simple.  In other ways it’s substantially complex as you seek to build relationships with people who are … well, dramatically different from you in many ways.

Will you answer the call to give of yourself to hurting people? Will you move past projects and check writing and get in to people’s lives?  We hope you will!
