We've shared about Sadie before...a young mom of three boys. We have seen her through several unplanned pregnancies, one resulting in abortion, another miscarriage, and now she is pregnant again. Our staff watched her weep on the ultrasound table a few months ago. She did not want to go through another abortion. She also knew she couldn't raise another child and desperately wanted to place for adoption. Her boyfriend would not agree to placing the baby for adoption and she felt trapped.
Over Christmas, I asked Sadie if we could connect her to a local church that would provide her gifts for her family. She was very wary of Christians and told me she really didn't like 'church people.' I asked her to give it a shot and she was willing. We connected her with a local church, who provided Christmas presents for herself and her three boys.
The young moms from the local church did not stop there. They intentionally called her, took her out for play dates, and listened to her. They did NOT judge her, but loved her. They simply were available!
And now, her boyfriend is no longer in the picture and Sadie is free to place for adoption. Who did she turn to when the time came for her to make this huge decision? Sadie turned to the women from the church that took care of her for Christmas and built a relationship with her.
Now the staff and client advocates at First Choice Pregnancy Solutions along with the church community can walk Sadie through the process of adoption. In this situation the church made a choice to love a mom and were the hands and feet of the Gospel!
