Justina Thought She Would Always Resent Her Baby

As Justina was near the end of her first trimester in the   spring of  2012, she decided that abortion was her best option.  She had  experienced a very difficult labor with  her first child, and was  adamantly against going through it again.  Finances were a concern  because she could not provide for her family through her job at a  local convenience store and she desired to finish her education.  Another child would further delay her dreams; Justina told our staff  that IF she had this baby, she would resent him or her because she  would not be able to achieve her goals.  Justina viewed the  relationship with her boyfriend as unstable, even though he wanted  her to have their baby.  

 Still undecided Justina agreed to an ultrasound and problem  solving.  After her second ultrasound she said that she did not  want her baby.  The only thing that was keeping her from  abortion was the lack of funds to pay for it.  She elected a third  and final ultrasound.  At this point she was further along in the  pregnancy and the health risks, and the surgical procedure of  the abortion process were about to change and she needed to make a decision.

After the final ultrasound, Justina shared that she was finally bonding with the baby growing inside of her.  She felt a connection and realized she could not handle having an abortion and knowing what would happen to her baby.

Justina CHOSE LIFE!  Since her decision she has enrolled and participated in our Next Steps program and is now 34 weeks pregnant. She is excited for the future with her two children.  Even though she does not know how she will provide for her family, she feels closer to God and is trusting in Him.

Justina has a long road ahead of her to support herself and her family and she needs a multitude of help and prayer for her future.  Please prayerfully consider if you may be able to serve her through one of the needs mentioned below. 

• Affordable housing (she is currently living with her uncle and would like a place of her own)
• Job opportunities
• Meals after her baby is born
• Car seat and base
