Update on "Morgan"

Many of you received the email about our client "Morgan", (whose real name is JaLisa) who came to the First Choice office, out of options.  JaLisa grew up in the foster care system, living in 12 different homes until the age of 19.  At the age of 19 she delivered her son and began to bounce from couches and cots to different homes of friends, family and shelters.  JaLisa is also 36 weeks pregnant with twin boys.  When she found out she was pregnant with twins she was extremely overwhelmed with the idea of 2 more children, and considered having an abortion.  As she reflected on the love she felt in her heart for her son, she decided to continue with the pregnancy because she would love her twins just as much.  JaLisa has lived a life of people not wanting her, putting her down for her mistakes and verbally abusing her.  She has decided that she wants to start over -no matter what it takes.  


Since we sent the email out about JaLisa needing housing, a generous family offered her a home in Wake Forest to live in for 3 months RENT FREE!  She shared that she has never had someone do something so nice for her, without bashing her for her faults or past mistakes.  She is ready to provide the loving and stable home for her children that she never had and break out of the cycle that she has spent so much of her life in.

Please continually pray ultimately that JaLisa will give her life to Christ in total surrender and see Him through the out pour of love she has received through the body of Christ.  Also, pray that she would seek Him to be her healer and rescuer and rely on Him for the wisdom she needs in her life.  Thank you to everyone for your concern, generous support and prayers.

In addition to housing, a few small groups from a local church felt God lead them to get involved and host a House Warming party for JaLisa, to provide the basic needs for her home and her children. Currently she has little more than fits in her car.

JaLisa is registered at Target and Wal-Mart under the name JaLisa Smith.  We would love for as many people as possible to attend to share the love of Christ with JaLisa and her son.  Please drop in and out, eat, play games and offer support and encouragement through household gifts, donated or new.  JaLisa would also like a used television. 

I believe one of the best parts of JaLisa's story is about us, the Body of Christ.  We received many calls, messages and emails about how people could help.  It was amazing to see the Body responding out of love for what Christ has done for us to her need.  Furthermore, the family that offered their home to JaLisa had never even heard of First Choice Pregnancy Solutions, but they just had the email forwarded to them!  Thank you for having open hearts and hands to how God is at work and being open to bringing the widow or orphan into your own home.
