How Are You Using Your Gift of LIFE?

gift.jpg
It is that time of year again when we get flooded with “Thanksgiving” letters, emails, and postcards which are shortly followed by the “End of Year financial appeal” letters, emails, and postcards.  This time of year can be exciting as we get to see all the great work of ministries that we love but also challenging as we consider all of the needs.

How can we be cheerful giver?  How can we give in response to what we have been given? How can we sort through the needs? How can we give strategically to all the causes we care so much about? How do we give “not under compulsion"? How do we decide?!?!

We all want to be generous, cheerful givers who honor God and do good things!  Here are some criteria through which you can consider the many donation requests:

1) True Need:  Can the organization receive funding outside of the Christian community? Do government agencies and the general population fund them?

2) Possible Impact: What COULD the organization do if it is well funded or given leveraging gifts? Is it life and death? Is it impacting eternity? Is it carrying out a direct command of God or reaching people with the gospel (i.e. caring for the poor, etc)?

3) Personal Transformation: What does the organization do to help educate, equip, and mobilize me and my family to do God’s work in my day to day life?

4) God’s Will: What does God want me to do with His resources? Will it bring God joy for me to fund this cause? Is God leading me through His Spirit to do something specific? Pleasing God will make you a cheerful giver.

Would you please prayerfully consider First Choice Pregnancy Solutions through these criteria and then listen to see if God would lead you to an act of generosity to help end the perceived need for abortion in our community?
