Samantha's boyfriend was pressuring her to abort when she came into First Choice. She already had three abortions and was uncertain if she could go through another. During her initial visit our volunteer nurse educated Samantha about fetal development. Samantha was amazed that her baby already had fingers! Samantha understood that to abort now would be murder.
Samantha called us later to share that she had broken up with her boyfriend. Feeling scared and alone she needed to talk to someone as soon as possible. We were able to meet with her within the hour.
It seemed as if Samantha had made the decision to abort because she had no idea how she was going to provide for the baby. She desperately wanted to have this baby, but she felt abortion was her only option.
Samantha continued to come to First Choice bi-weekly and attended our Foundations in Personal Finance class. She was working to get off of government assistance, but felt stuck in the cycle. She has found hope in providing for herself and her baby. We have seen her grow in reading scripture and prayer throughout her time at the Center.
